The Boston Scientific Mustang™ H74939171061010 is a 5 French (F), 0.035″ guidewire-compatible balloon dilatation catheter designed for percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) in peripheral vasculature. With a 6.0 mm balloon diameter, 100 mm balloon length, and 135 cm shaft length, this catheter is suitable for treating obstructive lesions in arteries such as the iliac, femoral, popliteal, tibial, peroneal, subclavian, and renal arteries, as well as for post-dilatation of balloon-expandable and self-expanding stents. It is also indicated for the treatment of obstructive lesions in native or synthetic arteriovenous dialysis fistulae.

Constructed with NyBax™ balloon material, a co-extrusion of nylon and Pebax®, the Mustang™ catheter offers a 24 atm rated burst pressure, providing powerful dilatation capabilities. The balloon's design ensures excellent rewrapping, facilitating ease of introduction and withdrawal through the sheath. The catheter's low profile enhances sheath compatibility, with a lesion entry profile only 15% larger than the guidewire, allowing for efficient navigation through tortuous anatomy.

The Mustang™ catheter is equipped with radiopaque platinum-iridium markers for precise balloon positioning under fluoroscopy. Its hydrophilic coating enhances trackability and deliverability, ensuring smooth advancement through vascular structures. Designed for use by trained physicians, the Mustang™ catheter is intended for single-use only and should be employed with caution in procedures involving calcified lesions or synthetic vascular grafts due to the abrasive nature of these inflation sites.
