The Arrow AB-20608-S StimuCath Continuous Peripheral Nerve Block Set is a comprehensive, sterile system designed for the continuous administration of local anesthetics in peripheral nerve blocks. This set includes a 20-gauge x 60 cm stimulating catheter, which allows clinicians to objectively confirm accurate catheter tip placement through nerve stimulation. The catheter's wire-reinforced, polyurethane body and unique coil tip are visible under ultrasound, providing additional feedback on the catheter location to the clinician. The set also features an 18-gauge x 8 cm Tuohy needle with a 2.0 mm pin connector, facilitating precise needle placement and catheter insertion. Designed for single-use, the kit comes with essential components such as a SnapLock™ catheter/syringe connector, StatLock® catheter securement device, and a 0.2-micron filter, ensuring a secure and efficient procedure.

The StimuCath catheter has been clinically proven to improve clinical outcomes by significantly decreasing pain scores and reducing rescue medication consumption compared to non-stimulating catheters. Its design allows for even distribution of anesthetic, enhancing the effectiveness of the nerve block. The inclusion of centimeter markings on the catheter helps identify how far the catheter has been advanced past the needle tip, aiding in accurate placement. The SnapLock™ connector ensures secure attachment and allows for sterile switching of stimulation leads, providing flexibility during the procedure. This set is particularly beneficial for patients requiring long-term pain management, offering a reliable solution for continuous peripheral nerve blocks.
