This Bard® Channel Drain is a radiopaque closed wound suction drain crafted from soft silicone, featuring a round, hubless tube design with four full‑length drainage channels. These channels enhance tissue contact and maximize fluid evacuation, reducing the likelihood of occlusion, decreasing seroma formation, and minimizing the need for early drain removal. The highly flexible, full‑fluted structure ensures superior drainage compared to traditional single-lumen drains.

Each drain is pre-fitted with a 3/16″ (approximately 4.7 mm) trocar to facilitate smooth insertion into tissue, simplifying placement while minimizing trauma. The hubless design further reduces patient discomfort at exit sites and limits tissue invagination, making removal easier and more comfortable. Manufactured entirely from silicone and devoid of natural rubber latex, the drain is suitable for patients with latex sensitivity and designed for single-use sterile applications.

Sized at 15 French, this drain comes in a box of 10, ideal for use in various surgical and wound-care contexts—including orthopedic, plastic/reconstructive, thoracic, or general surgery settings. The silicone composition provides high tensile strength and radiopacity, helping clinicians verify placement radiographically during postoperative monitoring. Its channel design not only improves drainage efficiency but also promotes ease of management and enhances patient comfort and outcomes.
