The Oasis Chest Roll Pediatric 8″ × 3″ × 2″ (Part 50008209) is a surgical positioning accessory designed specifically for pediatric patients. It is constructed with a silicone gel outer layer surrounding a lightweight foam core (the “Elite” style in the Oasis line), offering a balance of comfort, pressure redistribution, and support. Its flat-bottom design ensures that the roll remains stable under the pediatric chest during procedures, minimizing unwanted rolling or shifting which could compromise access or patient safety. The latex-free construction ensures compatibility with patients who have latex sensitivities.
In operatory use, this chest roll is placed beneath the patient's torso (in prone or supine orientations as needed) to elevate and support the chest, while allowing the abdomen to expand freely and reducing pressure zones on delicate tissues. The gel-filled surface helps distribute weight evenly, lowering the risk of pressure injuries on chest surfaces, ribs, or underlying soft tissues. Because it can be warmed or cooled (within a specified safe temperature range), it can also help maintain thermal comfort or mitigate localized temperature changes during long procedures.
From a workflow and safety perspective, the roll’s radiolucent and MRI-safe properties allow it to stay in place even when imaging (X-ray, CT, MRI) is needed, without introducing significant artifact. The non-slip gel surface helps ensure that once positioned, the patient remains stable throughout the procedure. Its robustness to standard cleaning and compatibility with operating room environmental demands make it a reliable adjunct in pediatric surgical setups where anatomical support, patient comfort, and imaging compatibility are all important.
These surgical instruments have been previously used and show visible signs of wear consistent with their prior usage. Despite these signs, they remain in a usable condition, suitable for continued medical procedures.
