The Shiley 7CN80H Flexible Tracheostomy Tube is part of the Shiley Flexible line of adult tracheostomy tubes, designed to provide a secure airway through a tracheostomy while lowering risks of tissue trauma, leakage, and patient discomfort. It features the TaperGuard™ cuff, a taper‑shaped, low-volume, low-pressure cuff intended to reduce leakage around the cuff and reduce pressure on the tracheal wall. The tubular design uses a flexible material (rather than rigid tubing) which helps accommodate patient movement and anatomical variation, and the flange is constructed to conform gently to patient skin with offset edges to reduce irritation.

In use, the tube is inserted through a stoma into the trachea (via surgical tracheostomy or percutaneous technique). The disposable inner cannula can be removed for cleaning or replacement without removing the entire outer cannula, which supports airway hygiene and reduces risk of disconnection. The integrated 15 mm connector at the proximal end allows attachment to ventilator circuits, breathing circuits, or other airway devices. The radiopaque line (common to Shiley tubes) enables visualization under x-ray to confirm placement.
