Covidien LS0300 Tissue Fusion Footswitch Purple

• Model: LS0300

The LS0300 Purple Tissue Fusion Footswitch is designed to provide foot-controlled activation of LigaSure™ instruments in surgical settings, enhancing the ergonomics and safety of vessel sealing procedures. In practice, when the surgeon needs to trigger energy delivery, they press the footswitch instead of manually activating on the instrument handpiece, freeing the hands for manipulation and improving workflow. The distinctive purple color coding helps ensure correct connection to the LigaSure 1 footswitch receptacle and prevents accidental mis‑wiring in multi-channel systems.

Because it is a single-pedal design, the LS0300 is streamlined and simple, reducing complexity in operation. It is employed in combination with LigaSure instruments on compatible generators (such as ForceTriad or LS10 platforms). The footswitch uses a seven-pin connector to communicate with the generator’s footswitch port and ensures reliable, dedicated signal control over tissue fusion activation.

Operationally, the footswitch integrates with the system’s status and error indicators: for example, the generator’s manual describes that when the footswitch is used, the system may display a purple indicator when sealing is ready, flashing when sealing is in process, or amber if there is a seal cycle error. This helps the surgical team detect and manage seal cycles in real-time. In sum, the LS0300 enhances control, safety, and usability for vessel sealing procedures by offering reliable foot activation with color-coded design and tight integration with the LigaSure system.

These surgical instruments have been previously used and show visible signs of wear consistent with their prior usage. Despite these signs, they remain in a usable condition, suitable for continued medical procedures.
