The Monosof™ N‑2760K 9‑0 nylon suture with SE‑160‑6 spatula needles is a high-precision suture system intended for delicate surgical procedures where minimal tissue trauma and fine control are required. Its monofilament nylon composition offers low tissue drag and minimal inflammation, which is especially important in microsurgical applications (e.g. ophthalmic, neurological, vascular microanastomosis) or in tissues where fine control and minimal scarring are paramount.

Because it is nonabsorbing, the suture remains in the body indefinitely unless removed; surgeons use it when long-term stability is needed, such as in microsutures for dura, vessels, tendons, or tissues where absorbable materials might degrade prematurely. The lack of coating helps reduce bulk and may improve knot security by allowing the surgeon to place tightly controlled knots without slippage from slick coatings. The black dye provides contrast that facilitates visualization under the surgical microscope or in confined fields.

The double-armed configuration (needles on both ends) is particularly useful in techniques such as running sutures across small distances, continuous closures, or when the surgeon wants flexibility in directing suture from either end. The SE‑160‑6 spatula needle’s ½‑circle shape is suited for delicate tissue penetration with minimal disruption, and its short 6 mm length aids in tight spaces. Overall, the N‑2760K Monosof is a fine suture option where precision, low tissue reaction, and long-term stability are required in surgical practice.
