The K833H is a non-absorbable, braided silk suture marketed under Ethicon’s Perma‑Hand™ line, composed of fibroin—a natural protein derived from silk worms. It undergoes processing to remove waxes and gums and is coated with a wax-based mixture to enhance handling while limiting capillarity. This suture is highly favored for general soft tissue approximation and ligation, and is indicated for use in delicate specialties including cardiovascular, ophthalmic, and neurological surgeries.
