This medical supply or implant item is securely packaged within its original manufacturer's packaging, which remains undamaged. The inner and outer packaging is intact, ensuring the product's integrity and suitability for medical use.
Designed specifically for infants and neonates under 40 kg, this sensor is lightweight and compact (approximately 6.9 cm × 2.5 cm and weighing around 31 g), ensuring a secure yet gentle interface on delicate skin. Its surface employs a hypoallergenic, hydrocolloid adhesive that conforms comfortably, eliminating latex exposure and minimizing the risk of skin irritation or injury.
This disposable, non‑sterile sensor continuously measures regional hemoglobin oxygen saturation (rSO₂) beneath the skin, offering real-time insight into tissue perfusion and oxygen balance. Rather than measuring arterial oxygen alone, it captures a venous-weighted signal (venous:arterial ratio of about 3:1), reflecting oxygen reserve and aiding early identification of hypoxic events. Precalibrated before use, it requires no user calibration and delivers reliable monitoring right out of the box.
The sensor is suitable for placement on various body locations—brain or somatic sites—making it adaptable across multiple care settings like the NICU, PICU, or pediatric OR. It connects directly to INVOS regional oximetry systems (e.g., the INVOS 5100C) via a 5-foot (1.5 m) cable, providing freedom in positioning while maintaining stable signal transmission. Continuous operation and BF class I safety rating ensure dependable performance throughout monitoring.
