The EL6501B 5‑Lead ECG leadwire set is intended to provide standard 5‑lead ECG monitoring functionality for compatible Mindray patient monitors. The five leads include the typical limb leads (right arm, left arm, left leg) plus two precordial (chest) leads used for better cardiac waveform definitions. The snap / clip style patient‑end connectors offer convenient, reliable contact with standard ECG electrodes. The proximal end (which connects to the monitor) is generally a twin‑pin or DIN style plug molded to match specific monitor input sockets; correct matching ensures signal fidelity and safety.

Its cable is encased in a gray TPU jacket which is flexible, durable against bending, and resistant to hospital‑grade disinfectants and patient use. Being latex‑free helps prevent allergic reactions in patients and makes cleaning less problematic. The AHA/IEC color code for the leads (e.g. red, yellow, green etc., depending on the lead) helps prevent misplacement which could distort ECG readings. The 0.6 m overall cable length (≈24 in) is a tradeoff between enough slack for patient movement and minimizing excess that could tangle or pick up noise.

From a functional and operational perspective, this leadwire set is a critical patient‑interface component: poor lead wires are a frequent source of ECG artifacts (noise, loose contact, baseline drift, spiking) or even missing leads in monitoring. For hospital settings, it must maintain consistent contact, tolerate cleaning/disinfection, and be compatible with replacement electrodes. Because ECG is used in many settings—ICU, telemetry, emergency, transport—the lead wire needs reliable mechanical integrity and correct electrical mapping. Replacement OEM wires like the EL6501B are used to keep monitors in calibration, minimise risk of lead mis‑connection, and maintain patient safety.
