1. Design & Product Details

The MRN‑420 is a single-use, sterilized rigid endoscopic needle crafted by Uroplasty (now under Cogentix Medical) for urologic procedures, particularly those involving the injection of bulking agents like Macroplastique® to treat female stress urinary incontinence. It features a 3.8 French (1.27 mm) shaft with a length of 14.5 in (370 mm), designed to pass easily through the working channel of most adult cystoscopes. The 20-gauge tip, measuring 0.54 in (14 mm), ensures precise delivery of injectable agents into periurethral tissue with minimal trauma.

2. Functional Attributes & Compatibility

Engineered to be compatible with standard adult cystoscopes, the MRN‑420’s low-profile design and rigid shaft enhance handling and positional accuracy during targeted injections. The 20 Ga bevel tip offers controlled flow and penetration depth, optimizing placement of bulking agents while reducing tissue disruption. The device is supplied sterile, non-latex, and is intended for single use, supporting infection control and clinical safety.

3. Clinical Applications & Benefits

The MRN‑420 is designed for endoscopic injection procedures targeting female intrinsic sphincter deficiency in stress urinary incontinence. It ensures improved delivery and placement of urethral bulking agents, facilitating urethral coaptation and enhancing continence. The rigid construction and precise tip contribute to consistent, reliable performance during periurethral injections. As part of Uroplasty’s suite of disposable devices, it supports procedural efficiency and minimizes infection risk associated with reusable instrument sterilization.
