Synthes 390.006 Dynamization Clamp For Large Combination Clamp / MR Safe
• Model: 390.006
A device designed to hold surgical instruments together; typically those with ring handles. This can be for sterilization, storage purposes, and/or to keep surgical instruments used for a particular procedure together prior to being lain out for surgery. It is typically designed like a very large safety pin (i.e., an elongated spring wire clasp with a locking catch onto which the instruments are threaded, usually by the ring handle). It is typically made of stainless steel or chromed metal. This is a reusable device.
The Synthes 390.006 Dynamization Clip is a precision component engineered to enhance external fixation of fractures via controlled dynamization. Designed specifically for use with the Synthes Large Combination Clamp, this clip allows for the intentional micromotion at the fracture site, promoting callus formation and accelerating bone healing in long bone and pelvic fractures. Crafted from cobalt alloy, it's compatible with Schanz screws ranging from 4 to 6 mm in diameter and is tailored for demanding clinical scenarios including polytrauma, unstable pelvic fractures, non-unions, septic non-unions, arthrodesis, osteotomy adjuncts, and cases involving complex soft tissue compromise.
A standout feature of this component is its MR‑Safe classification. Unlike many metallic implants that fall under "MR‑Conditional" (usable only under specific MRI settings), the dynamization clip poses no known hazards across all MRI environments. This allows patients to undergo necessary MRI imaging seamlessly, without device removal—streamlining diagnostic and rehabilitation workflows and minimizing patient disruption. From a workflow perspective, the clip integrates easily into the large external fixation framework, providing surgeons with the flexibility to fine-tune stability and compression as healing progresses.
