The AMSINO 6‑inch microbore extension set is a compact, low‑volume infusion accessory designed to extend the reach of an IV line while adding minimal dead space. Its microbore tubing maintains a small internal diameter, which reduces priming volume (~0.5 mL) and diminishes the amount of fluid necessary to flush or purge the line. With a short 6″ length, it is ideal for bridging between devices or catheter hubs without adding undue slack or risk of kinking.
One of its key features is the needleless injection site, which allows clinicians to administer medications or flushes into the line without opening the system or using sharps. This enhances safety by reducing the risk of needlestick injuries and maintaining the closed infusion circuit. The slide clamp provides the ability to quickly occlude fluid flow during preparation or disconnection, while the rotating male luer lock at the distal end ensures a secure, leak‑resistant connection yet allows the tubing to twist freely without stressing the junction point.
Constructed with patient safety in mind, the set is DEHP-free, latex-free, and nonpyrogenic, making it suitable even for patients with sensitivity to plasticizers or latex. Since it's sterile and packaged in a 50‑unit case, it is ready for clinical use. In practice, this extension set is especially useful in settings where minimal added fluid volume is important (e.g. pediatrics, tight fluid balance) but some physical extension is needed between the catheter and infusion system.
