The Medtronic 10095100 Rev F Puritan Bennett Neonatal Expiratory Bracket & Filter is a high-efficiency, disposable filter system designed to reduce viral and bacterial particles in exhaled gas during mechanical ventilation of neonatal patients. It is specifically engineered for use with the Puritan Bennett™ 980 ventilator, providing a comprehensive condensate drainage system that includes a one-piece filter and collector vial. This design ensures effective filtration while maintaining optimal ventilator performance.
With a filtration efficiency greater than 99.99% for viral and bacterial particles, the Puritan Bennett™ neonatal expiratory filter meets the CDC's N100 filtration equivalency requirements. The system boasts a low flow resistance of less than 3.0 cmH₂O at 30 L/min when new, ensuring minimal impact on the patient's breathing dynamics. Additionally, the filter maintains a penetration rate of less than 0.03% at 30 L/min gas flow, as per the ISO 23328-1 method, and exhibits gas leakage of less than 10 mL per minute at 100 hPa (100 cm H₂O), ensuring the integrity of the ventilator circuit.
Measuring approximately 8.9 cm in diameter and 17.8 cm in length, the filter system has an internal gas volume of about 110 mL and a condensate vial capacity of approximately 15 mL usable volume up to the maximum fill line. The 22 mm male conical connector (ISO 5356-1) facilitates easy integration with the ventilator circuit. Being latex-free and single-use, the filter system is designed to minimize the risk of cross-contamination and ensure patient safety. It is sold in cases of 12 units, providing a cost-effective solution for neonatal respiratory care.
