The Ethicon 1669H is a high-quality, non-absorbable surgical suture made from ETHILON® (polyamide 6), a synthetic monofilament nylon. This suture is designed for general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in cardiovascular, ophthalmic, and neurological procedures. Its black color enhances visibility during surgical procedures, aiding in precise placement and knot tying.

Equipped with a 19 mm, 3/8 circle PS-2 reverse cutting needle, the 1669H suture offers excellent control and precision during tissue penetration. The reverse cutting needle design ensures a sharp cutting edge on the outer curvature, reducing the risk of tissue tearing and providing greater control during suturing. The 18-inch (45 cm) length provides ample working space for various surgical applications.

As a non-absorbable suture, the 1669H maintains its strength over time, providing continuous support to the tissue until the wound heals sufficiently. Its monofilament nature reduces tissue drag and minimizes the risk of infection, making it suitable for use in contaminated or infected wounds. The suture is sterile and comes in a box of 36, ensuring a sufficient supply for surgical procedures.
