MicroAire 81014 SmartRelease® ECTR System | Complete 6-Piece Hand Instrument Set | Aesculap JF159R Case
The MicroAire 81014 is the central component of the SmartRelease® Endoscopic Soft Tissue Release System, the most widely used single-portal ECTR system worldwide. This premium pistol-grip handpiece is engineered for precision ligament transection, allowing surgeons to treat carpal tunnel syndrome through a single, small incision in the wrist crease.
By integrating a high-definition endoscope (not included) with the 81014 handpiece and its specialized attachments, the system provides a direct, magnified view of the underside of the transverse carpal ligament. This minimally invasive approach is clinically proven to reduce post-operative pain, minimize scarring, and allow patients to return to normal activities significantly faster than traditional open release procedures.
Included Components & Clinical Functions
-
81014 Aluminum Handpiece: The ergonomic, pistol-grip base featuring a turn-latch for 360° blade rotation, accommodating both right- and left-handed surgical approaches.
-
81029 Synovium Elevator: Used to separate the synovium from the underside of the ligament, ensuring a clear "washboard" tactile feel and visual identification of the anatomy.
-
81027 Medium Hamate Finder: Essential for preparing the surgical path and locating the distal margin of the transverse carpal ligament.
-
81026 Small SmartRelease Dilator: A smaller-profile instrument used for initial entry and path preparation in tighter carpal tunnels.
-
81061 SmartRelease Blade: The reusable blade assembly interface designed for precise, upward-vertical transection of the ligament.
-
Aesculap JF159R Mini-Tray: A premium, perforated stainless steel sterilization basket (267mm x 125mm x 49mm) with a secure lid, designed for organized processing and protection of the SmartRelease instruments.
Technical & Professional Advantages
-
Single-Portal Efficiency: Streamlines the surgical workflow by allowing both visualization and resection through a single entry point, reducing tissue trauma.
-
Rotational Flexibility: The 81014 handpiece allows the blade assembly to be locked at any angle, providing the surgeon with optimal ergonomic positioning regardless of patient hand orientation.
-
Tactile Feedback: The high-grade aluminum construction of the handpiece and stainless steel accessories provide the critical tactile sensitivity required to distinguish between ligamentous tissue and surrounding structures.
-
Standardized Sterilization: The included Aesculap JF159R basket fits standard mini-size sterilization containers (JK188/JN188), facilitating seamless integration into hospital SPD (Sterile Processing Department) workflows.
