The 6541‑3‑601 Patella Stylus is a precision alignment instrument used in the Stryker Triathlon Total Knee System. Designed to attach to the patella clamp during distal patellar preparations, it functions as a bone resection locator. By placing the stylus on the patella surface—either via the top circular hole for bone removal or bottom hex hole for bone preservation—it allows surgeons to set the exact resection height accurately. The stylus then guides saw placement through resection slots, ensuring uniform bone cuts that match the thickness of the selected implant — a critical step for proper patellar tracking and implant fit.

Manufactured of surgical-grade stainless steel and featuring a gold release tab and adjustment button, the stylus is fully autoclavable and robust enough for repeated OR cycles. It measures roughly 3–4 inches in length and fits seamlessly into the Triathlon patella clamp assembly. Its swivel mechanism ensures tactile feedback and adaptability over the articular surface, aiding in precision alignment. According to Stryker’s surgical protocols, it acts as a reliable tool for both bone-remaining and bone-removing techniques, further enhancing anatomic restoration during patellar resurfacing.
